The OIG now says that payments to vendors of referral software violate the federal anti-kickback statute. Hospitals’ discharge planners/case managers have used these types of software for many years to make referrals.

·     Now what?

·     Why do these payments violate the anti-kickback statute?

·     Are there alternatives? If so, what are they?

·     What should providers do about the contracts they currently have with vendors? Should they be terminated? Restructured? If so, how?

·     What if hospitals insist on continuing to use the software and vendors require payments? What should providers do then?

Register for this teleconference to get all the latest on this topic. Extensive handouts will be provided and there will be plenty of time for questions.
